This collected volume is a result of five-years term research. It is aimed at getting attention to the corpus of underestimated materials on the radical reiterpretations of Museums and Exhibitions roles in Russian and USSR since the late 19th century to the firts third of 20th century. These projects, miscellaneous at the first blush, demonstrate its inner kinship, which consists firts of all in their common zeal to overcome the borders of the Museum institution. Consequently, these projects could be presented as an integral phenomenon called "avant-garde museology".
