The theme of the twelfth issue is the dialectic of the double, gradually transforming the drama of the infernal twin with the universal accessibility of a biopolitical product. Contributors from Sweden, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, and Russia explore the phenomenon of duality as a cultural hallmark of our time through the prism of multidimensional processes shaping a certain identity in the space of contemporary art.

This issue features a review of legendary American artist Cindy Sherman's new solo project at the unique island art center Hauser & Wirth Menorca, an in-depth analysis of the trope of the double in René Magritte's work by art historian Andrei Epishin, as well as original reviews of exhibitions held at the non-profit public center for contemporary art Dortmunder Kunstverein, the private Düsseldorf gallery KAI 10, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
